ISTD

I want to enter ISTD rather than D&AD or YCN as my 4th brief and as a live competition as this is pure typography, the area which I wish to specialise in. However, I am a bit worried about one of the assessment criteria...

• Each project requires sensitive integration of words and images. However, we discourage the overt use of imagery and suggest a subtle and sensitive approach to the inclusion of any illustrative content. Remember that your solution must be essentially typographic.

...This is the opposite sort of type designer that I want to be and is making me rethink my certainty to complete an ISDT brief.
