Shoe shop chair designs

Ailsa found this image and it shows the kind of chairs used in shoe shops in the 1940s so I am using this as a reference point to find a suitable chair for the point of sale.

Bags of the 1930s

As the main style of our design is based on the 1930s era I have looked into 'man bags' of that time. It would be really nice if I could use a different tstyle of bag to really reflect the theme across other elements of branding Ted Baker have. It would look elitest if the bags were too different but I think a slight adaptation of a normal bag design would be good.

These Gladstons leather luggage bags were popular with men in the 30s and I could easily adapt a normal paper bag net to lok slightly more like these.

Art Deco

1930 chair designs

When trying on shoes in store you sit down... This is a major point of sale which will continue the theme further. A 1930s chair of British design would be ideal. We could possibly print one of our slogans onto this.

"Despite the economic depression at the beginning of the decade and the social and political upheaval in the years before World War II at the end, the 1930s was a period of progress in chair design. Metal had dominated design experimentation in the 1920s, but 1930s designers such as Alvar Aalto in Finland, Marcel Breuer, then in England, and Bruno Mathsson in Sweden, tested the tensile qualities of wood."
