Joe suggested these guys as a part of my contextual research, and their work is of high quality. The typefaces themselves are less decorative than mine and what I wish to produce in the future, however the specimens are beautiful.
Personally the one which works best for me is Monosten Specimen. The colours do not distract from the typeface and as I am really keen not to print on white, this is a brilliant example of how colour can emphasise something rather than detract.
