Magazine in 24 hours

Heard about this through Stackand would love to go have a look at rapid printing and the construction of a quick magazine by independent designers.

Here’s an exciting thing – on the weekend of 12-14 August we’re going to be making a magazine. In two days. And everyone can join in.

This summer the Southbank Centre is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, and as part of that they have a strand on Power and Production. There’s going to be rapid prototyping, printmaking, hacking household objects and all sorts of other ridiculously fun and interesting stuff going on. The organisers contacted us to see what we could do to join in, so we’re going to be setting up an open ‘newsroom’ in the Royal Festival Hall and making a magazine over two days.

We’re going to have writers, editors, photographers, illustrators and designers from some of London’s best independent magazines on hand to lend their expertise, but we need more! We’re going to have lots of things that need writing, photographing, drawing and designing, so if you’d like to join in just drop me a line on steve [at] stackmagazines.com and we’ll work out what you can do to help. Or of course you can just drop by on the day and say hello."
